McKenna Freed is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who grew up in Spokane, Washington. Her interest in healthcare began early, sparked by a life science class in seventh grade and fueled by a passion for people, science, and medicine. She went on to earn her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Washington State University and spent six years as a registered nurse on the cardiac transplant unit at Sacred Heart Medical Center. There, she developed a deep appreciation for the complexity of chronic conditions and the importance of compassionate, patient-focused care.

 

Motivated to expand her role in prevention and primary care, McKenna returned to WSU to complete her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), specializing in family medicine. During her training, she completed clinical rotations in family medicine, endocrinology, and nephrology. Her clinical interests include cardiac health, diabetes management, internal medicine, and preventive care.
